In the Philippines, the government has taken and is taking steps to encourage its people to be sustainable, but there seems to be a lack of response towards it due to (1) people resorted to practice buying affordable items for one-time use; and (2) MSMEs are not capable to support sustainability due to financial aspect, lack of training and expertise, and lack of manpower. Supporting a sustainable community is a long process which requires commitment. It is important to make people aware that this is an on-going problem, but also, that there are people who are dedicated to help them and provide at least adequate knowledge and advice.
With this, ECOmmit aims to be a support for rands that offer sustainable products. In addition, promoting brands that support sustainability may help their business grow more and inspire other MSMEs to be sustainable.
Since MSMEs are facing challenges in lack of financial resources, knowledge, experience, education, and training that hinders their action to sustainability, we want to create an awareness campaign with the help of the brand, Project Refill PH.
An advertising campaign is also needed to support these sustainable MSMEs brands to show them to the market, encourage people to support their brands/products, and hopefully, inspire other MSMEs. This advertising campaign is a move to also support the awareness campaign.
In ECOmmit, we believe that MSMEs can play a vital role on this initiative.
